WHAT IS STRUCTURED WORKPLACE LEARNING AND HOW DOES IT HAPPEN?

What is structured workplace learning?

Workplace learning is learning that happens in the usual course of your working day at your workplace. You might be learning as you do your job (on-the-job learning) or as a specific course.

Learning State's workplace learning programmes are structured around the unit standards and qualifications on the National Qualifications Framework.

We have developed qualifications that:

As part of a structured learning programme, we can help you to identify the learning pathways most relevant to you and your agency. The pathways are sequences of qualifications that will take you where you want to go in the State sector.

How does workplace learning happen?

Your workplace learning can happen in a variety ways. You might learn:

  • in your workplace (on-job training)
  • on the internet (online training)
  • from an external training provider (off-job training)
  • using a combination of these methods.

Your employer and Learning State will support you to achieve the unit standards for the qualification you are working towards.
