WHAT DOES IT COST TO TAKE PART IN WORKPLACE LEARNING?

Your workplace learning and assessment aren't free. But the good news is that your State sector employer is likely to pay all or part of these costs. You won't need a student loan, but you will need to be motivated.

The costs associated with workplace learning and assessment include:

· a one-off registration fee

New Zealand Qualifications Authority registration fee

Each new learner pays a one-off registration fee of $25 to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). This registers you with the NZQA and gives you a Record of Learning number (also called a registration number). Your employer is likely to pay this for you.

Not sure whether you have a Record of Learning number? Don't know how to get a Record of Learning number? Talk to your manager.
