WHEN DOES MODERATION HAPPEN?
|
|
All assessors are involved in moderation before and after assessment at some stage. Newly registered assessors are subject to heavier moderation requirements than experienced assessors, with their first two assessments being moderated. When a State sector agency has implemented workplace assessment on a significant scale, Learning State develops a moderation agreement with the agency. This allows strong internal moderation processes to develop within the agency. Learning State works with these agencies to identify how the internal moderation process will be monitored. If you're a workplace assessor working in an agency that has a moderation agreement with Learning State, you'll work with your internal coordinator to meet moderation requirements. If you're working in an agency without a coordinator, Learning State will communicate with you directly about moderation requirements. Moderation before assessmentModeration before assessment (also known as pre-assessment moderation) is a check of assessment material to make sure it is valid. All Learning State assessment guides must be moderated before workplace assessors use them. Download the Pre-Assessment Moderation form Moderation after assessmentModeration after assessment (also known as post-assessment moderation) is a check that assessors' decisions about trainees' competence are consistent. Each workplace assessor has a sample of their assessments moderated to make sure their judgements are consistent with other assessors' judgements and with the standards' requirements. |
