WHAT IS A MODERN APPRENTICESHIP?

A Modern Apprenticeship is an agreement between an employee and an agency that leads to a national qualification. A Modern Apprentice, aged 16 to 21, agrees to complete a structured workplace learning and assessment programme at the same time as working for a State sector agency. The agency agrees to support the Modern Apprentice to achieve their qualification.
