NEW QUALIFICATIONS (Archived)


Learning State regularly develops new qualifications. The latest offerings are the:

· National Certificate in Public Sector Services (Official Statistics)

· National Certificate Public Sector Services (Field / Community Advisors)

· National Certificate in First Line Management Online

National Certificate in Public Sector Services (Official Statistics)

The National Certificate in Public Sector Services (Official Statistics) has been created to enhance the statistical skills of the State sector and build knowledge and confidence in employees. The qualification is on the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) Framework, and is facilitated by Statistics New Zealand in conjunction with Learning State.

This qualification is available to any State sector employee at a cost of $1,000.00 for the compulsory component to be paid by your employer to Statistics New Zealand. Statistics New Zealand will support and provide advice on how to complete the balance of the qualification. Depending on your requirements furthers costs may be incurred.

Your Training Agreement for this qualification will be an agreement between you, your employer and Statistics New Zealand.

Please contact your Workplace Coordinator who will engage with Statistics New Zealand to assist with your enrolment and Training Agreement.

National Certificate Public Sector Services
(Field / Community Advisors)

The National Certificate Public Sector Services (Field / Community Advisors) is a new qualification designed for people working regionally and nationally as field or community advisors.

It recognises skills in:

· liaising with individuals, community groups, and business groups

· interpreting and translating government policy for users

· providing advice and support in relation to government funding

· implementing government projects

· facilitating meetings and workshops and giving presentations.

The qualification can lead to the National Diploma in Public Sector Services and the National Diploma in Public Sector Māori.

National Certificate in First Line Management - Online

The National Certificate in First Line Management - Online (level 4) is a programme of study designed for people working as (or towards positions as) team leaders, supervisors, first line managers, or, in fact, any position responsible for managing people, resources, or projects.

The certificate consists of 40 credits made up of eight courses from a variety of electives.

This course of study aims to provide people with supervisory experience or people interested in developing their management skills to effectively carry out their role as first line managers.

This is primarily an online course that can be done in the workplace, from home, or as a mixture of both.
