As the professional development experts for the public sector, our role is to provide high quality, relevant workplace learning programmes for employees in local and central government organisations.
Workplace learning is recognised as a great way to learn and achieve formal qualifications with a minimum of disruption to both employee and organisation.
The Skills Organisation works with both an employee and their manager to identify the employee's existing and anticipated skills gaps, and then develop and implement a relevant, cost-effective workplace learning programme to address those needs.
We provide a range of programmes such as core public services, business administration and management, to adult education, dispute resolution and compliance. We also cater for more diverse, specialist programmes such as animal control, liquor licensing, parking enforcement, rates management and more.
These programmes are linked to qualifications that are registered on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).
