Your education doesn't have to stop when you leave school. With The Skills Organisation's workplace development programmes, you can give your career a boost and gain a qualification while you work.
Workplace learning is recognised as a great way to 'learn and earn'. In other words, learn new skills, gain knowledge and a formal qualification, while continuing to work.
No classrooms, no lectures, and best of all, no student loan. What's more, our programmes are transferable across the New Zealand public sector.
Our programmes are linked to standards on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF). Learning is therefore structured around you achieving measurable outcomes. Programmes involve a mix of facilitated workshops, assignments, coaching and mentoring, and self-directed study. Much of this is achievable in the workplace with minimal disruption to your family life.
If you have already gained experience in your field of work but not received formal recognition for it, you may be eligible for our Skills Recognition programme, where your existing skills are measured against standards on the NZQF.
To help make learning easier for you,The Skills Organisation has developed the New Zealand Learning Platform, in partnership with the Open Polytechnic, an online learning management system, that will be available soon. This is an easy-to-use online learning tool that will provide you with access to assignments, tutorials, discussion groups, resources and more.
